The alarm went off at 5:00 and by 5:30 we were packing up and heading down the mountain. Bubbles and I were a little in front of Whiskers and Toad. As soon as we got packed we started heading down and it was cold. The wind was blowing and we needed to get moving to warm up.
Last night, about five minutes before camp, Bubbles saw a bear running down the mountain. We were on high alert since it was still dark out. Uncle Johnny's Nolichucky Hostel is right on the Appalachian Trail. When we got there we met Johnny and some of his helpers. Everyone seemed nice. I was impressed with his resupply store as there was anything a hiker could need.
It wasn't really just a resupply store it was an outfitters too. Whiskers and Toad were right behind us. They were definitely going to stay but Bubbles and I thought we should just keep moving on and try to make up a few miles.
