Sprout Day 200 (Thursday, October 13, 2016)

We did 15.6 miles and we're staying at the Knot Maul Branch Shelter. We made pretty good time getting here seeing as how we got a little later start than normal.

Porterhouse was working in West Virginia and drove the extra 4 hours to come see us last night! It was awesome. He brought us some Wendy's, candy, and snacks from the gas station. He brought a few gallons of water too which was perfect because we needed it! We were so excited he came down and brought us a bunch of goodies! He spent the night and got up and left before 4 a.m. What a hero!

I got up at 3:30 to make sure he was getting ready but went back to sleep after he was up. We got on the trail around 8:30. It was cold, cloudy, and kind of rained (a little more of a mist) early in the day. Once it warmed up a little, it was the perfect temp for hiking.

Tomorrow, we plan on getting up early and trying to get as far as we can, hopefully around 20 miles. We're 26.2 miles from our next resupply in Marion. There's a gas station 15 miles into the day tomorrow, so it looks like I'll be getting a cold drink and something to eat!
