Sprout Day 191 (Tuesday, October 4, 2016)

We got back on trail after spending two nights in Pearlsburg. It felt good to lay in a hotel bed and watch TV. Whisker’s dad bought us the room our first night and it felt so good we decided to split the room for the next night! Haha. It was a good rest and we got everything from town we need to keep on going.

We picked up an awesome resupply box from Poppa Lip and I went to the food lion to grab a few more groceries. Right by the plaza motel was a Hardee's, Dairy Queen, and a Mexican restaurant. The lady who sort of ran the hotel was really nice. She washed our laundry for us as soon as we unpacked. The lady at the post office was kind too. She said this town loves their hikers. It's nice going to a town that likes hikers, it makes a big difference.

Tuesday was national taco day and the Mexican restaurant had 99 cent tacos. We went there for dinner and had a blizzard later that night for dessert.

We got back on trail a little later today, sometime around 10:30. We woke up and took one last shower and went to Hardee's for lunch. I stopped at the gas station and bought an energy drink and some Coca Cola for tomorrow.

We went 8 miles and are staying at the campsite right before Doc Knob Shelter. We're getting up early to get on the trail early and plan on hiking 18-20 miles tomorrow.
