It was an exciting morning, Smudgy saw two moose right next to his tent around 5:00 a.m.! He said he heard something big outside, peeked out, and saw them! He came over to tell us and we heard them off in the distance making some noises. We went back to bed for a little bit after that because there were a lot of people camped around us and we didn't want to wake everyone up.
We got over the last three highest peaks: West Peak, Hay Mountain, and White Cap Mountain. There's a smaller thousand foot climb tomorrow, Little Boardman Mountain, and then the terrain flattens out pretty much all the way to Katahdin with a few hills along the way but nothing compared to what we've been doing! It's going to be nice to have some relief from the mountains!
We went 11.1 miles today. We were going to go further but Smudgy’s legs were giving out. I think we're going to meet up tomorrow and split something for lunch. If we get more calories we shouldn't tire as quickly during the day. We're going to try to do 17 miles tomorrow. It’s a long way but we can do it!

People make these to hang their food up in the lean-to (a mouse can't climb down the rope with a can in the way!)
