Flying Dutchman Day 12 (Thursday, July 7th, 2016)

The Flying Dutchman on top of Mt. Moosilauke!
Today we slackpacked.  The walk towards the top of the Moosilauke is pretty steep but I enjoyed seeing different waterfalls, alpine type of pines, and also once you are on the top you feel like you are in the Highlands or in the Lord of the Rings!

At the hostel I met Three hikers.  Three Jack, a hiker from Atlanta, Georgia, and Tea an American Belgian hiker (Native French Speaker).  Three Jack said always respect the trail and respect your body.  He meant that we should monitor our feet if they hurt and we shouldn't ignore the pain we feel. He said if he could redo the trail he would follow these wise sayings.

Tea moved from Belgium when he was 12 to Florida and is a native French speaker.  I also spoke with Veggie, another hiker, who used to teach young children.  During one part of the day they would teach subjects in English and the other part of the day in Spanish.  I'm looking forward to start teaching when this adventure is over (one month from tomorrow!!)

It's hard to hike when there are so many rocks on the trail.  It hurts your feet.
Going down!
I can't imagine trying to hike over this when it is raining.  It would be very slippery!
