Flying Dutchman Day 10 (Tuesday, July 5th, 2016)

There were a million mosquitos last night!  I felt a little bit claustrophobic in my tent.  It is a really small area.  Once it started to get colder at night I felt a little bit better.  I thought about leaving the door unzipped but I couldn't because of all of the bugs.

Today we started to hike our way to Smart Mountain.  When we started our climb I saw the hiker Jesse and he said he took four days off but he will be slack packing to Mount Washington.  His mother was going to pick him up after a 20 mile hike today!

I took lunch at the Smarts Mountain Shelter.  The fire tower nearby was inaccessible to the public.

After lunch we hiked to Hexacuba shelter.  I spoke to two hikers there, Wet Beard and Obi.  Obi said he loved the camping part of the AT but he disliked the hiking part!!
