Flying Dutchman Day 5 (Thursday, June 30th, 2016)

Today we walked from mile 1708 to 1723.2 on the trail.  We are camping at a beautiful field at the Ascutney Mountain.

We had lunch at the Lookout, owned by a family who lets hikers stay at their home.  They had a ladder on the side of their building that led to a platform on a roof.  There was a beautiful view there where we could see the top of Killington Mountain, which we had already summited a few days ago, a lot of Vermont, and we could even see the Whites ahead of us in New Hampshire!

I am tired but enjoying my adventure on the Appalachian Trail!

Check out my trail beard so far!!
