Today was a short day but it was a great day! We got to meet a couple of Mountain Man and Karma’s friends, Ninja and Jpeg. They are a couple of hikers who hiked the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail on the West coast) last year and wanted to give us a little trail magic. Jpeg lives in New York City and and Ninja is from their hometown in Switzerland! It was great meeting someone from their hometown and I'm sure they were happy to have someone close from home in the area! I liked being on the other side of things and listening to Mountain Man and Ninja speak in Swiss German.
Ninja and Jpeg knew exactly what we would want considering they've been on a long distance hike, (Jpeg has also hiked the AT.) We came up over a hill into a state park and saw the signs for the trail magic and it was amazing! Jpeg and Ninja had carrots, apples, watermelon, cheese, hot dogs, Powerade, wine, beer, and a bunch of other good treats for us. Bubbles and I showed up a little after Mountain Man and Karma. As soon as we arrived Jpeg started making hotdogs.
It was awesome to have experienced hikers to ask some of the important questions we've had, and they were more than willing to answer any questions and give us as much advice as they could. Ninja even gave Mountain Man a shakedown. Ninja and Jpeg were going to a festival in North Carolina and planned on giving trail magic down the trail a couple more times, they are great people! We sat in the park for around eight hours and it was a much needed break! We all got full and regained some energy! Before we headed to camp for the night Ninja drove Mountain Man down to the gas station to pick up a few more treats, it's great to have an unexpected ride into town to get some last minute supplies.
