Hiking in Jersey is great. I love it. It's not too difficult and the scenery is beautiful. We stopped at Gyp's Tavern and it was really a good time. We are enjoying our time with Mountain Man and Karma. While eating, a man walked in with a Go Pro hat on and a pair of fishing waders. I asked him if he was filming his catches. He said that was a good idea but he didn't bring his Go Pro. We were chatting and he asked us how far we had come on the trail. A guy who wasn't a part of the conversation piped up and said "I'm coming from Georgia, anyone else? Anyone else? I didn't think so." Then, he didn't say anything else or engage in conversation with us. Haha, not sure why he didn't think the other 7 hikers in the bar could have traveled as far as him, but oh well, his loss. We are awesome haha.
We had a nice conversation with the Go Pro man. He was from California and had the GoPro hat because his buddy is the surfer in the videos.
We are going to need one of these on our car!! |
Gyp's Tavern |
We enjoyed our drink and food and then went on hiking. It was a long day and we spent too much time at the tavern, but it was worth it. I was happy to be with friends.
I didn't get to camp until almost dark. On my way to camp I saw so much wild life. Beautiful birds. They were singing happily and it put me in a even better mood. Right before I got there an owl flew right in front of my face. Almost smacked me in the face with its wings. I was so shocked. It didn't make any sounds. I don't know how they fly without making any noise but that's a moment I won't forget.
I was so happy to see giant lilac bushes close to the shelter. They remind me of my momma and that makes me very happy. And they smelled so good it brought a smile to my face that stayed all night.
