We had 13.1 miles to conquer today and we got off to an early start. While I enjoyed my day, hiking with my buds in my ears, the last two miles were rough! My right leg was so tender I could barely walk. I limped down the hill to the shelter. I helped Robby set up the tent and then sat by the fire.

Let me just say that Birdman and Cornchips are really great guys! They collected firewood even though they said they had only had a fire a couple of times in all of the years they had been out backpacking together. Side note - these gents have been section hiking the AT since 2005!!!! They said their group always changes a little bit, but it sounded like these two were always in on the yearly adventure. They told me they rocked out the smokies in three days! Kudos guys!!! That's incredible. They are good hikers. Birdman also gave us a candy bar and he doesn't know how incredibly thankful we were. Thanks again!
